Autism, including Asperger’s Syndrome, is a lifelong developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with and relates to other people. It also affects how they make sense of the world.

It is a spectrum disorder, which means that while all people with autism share certain difficulties their condition affects them in different ways.

People with Asperger’s Syndrome may be of average or above average intelligence, and have fewer problems with speech, but still have difficulties understanding and processing language, and communicating with other people.
